In the first three books of the series, the Mafietta Trilogy follows Clarke, a woman tired of bankrolling her suitors, entertaining a man she normally wouldn’t consider - a man from the underworld. Errol, the head of the Bellow Brothers, is tired of the opportunistic women that find their way into his path. He was done with love, but meeting Clarke changed all of that. Their perfect love story falls apart when a tragic turn of events sends Errol behind bars and forces Clarke to run the family business. When a good girl turns mafia queen, she is forced to choose between the love she's always wanted and a lifestyle she's grown to hate.
Clarke Bellow worked hard to move The Port City Kings into legitimate business. Her move from “Mafietta” to a pillar of the Community was all she ever wanted. She had no idea her family’s exit from the dark side would leave such a tense situation on the streets of Wilmington, North Carolina.
When a barrage of life-threatening situations follow for Errol, Clarke, and their family. The team is forced to resort to their old ways to save two of their own, but when the dust settles, and the threat is eliminated, Errol finds himself in the biggest fight of his life.
. . . but for now, everybody is BLIND.
Edwina Edwards knew she was different. It wasn’t because she tried to be, it was because the world around her wouldn’t let her forget. She was stuck between two worlds. Neither would fully accept her and each wanted to make her choose. Matthew Marlowe is the son of an NC Senator and lives in a fishbowl. After having his last love forced away, he relents to his father’s will and takes a million dollar deal that will shape his life forever. . . .but when two very different worlds collide, there has to be a BANG because it’s never black and white in love and business.
I did rather well after writing my first book. Then once I'd sold my book to all of my friends and family, I found myself in a bit of a slump. My sales were slowing down and I had to figure out what to do next. At first, I hired a social media strategist. That went well. She created social media posts for me and that helped my awareness. Next, I had to find my footing in the author's arena.
I did interview after interview, guest blog posts, Facebook like swaps, Amazon author page like swaps, and anything else I could think of that would help me gain exposure among new groups of readers. However, I found that while these things supplemented my brand awareness campaign and slowly helped sales, nothing beat social media marketing. This piqued my interest and I delved in to digital marketing a bit deeper. I went on to get a Master's degree in Media Management to supplement my efforts.
I learned the importance of Facebook targeting in order to gain successful ad results, the importance of the images I was using in my social media posts and the desire of my audience. Understanding these topics led me to conduct a brand audit of the Mafietta brand and create new posts that mirrored my best performing ones and I was able to create a bit of a trend. I repeated that winning strategy on my next book release and the ones that followed.
Now my husband and I have both taken our proven methods and created a digital consulting agency to assist other small business owners who need a bit of help understanding how to use social media marketing to help the improve their business. We've created a free online resource center for those looking to DIY. Click here for access to a FREE brand audit workbook you can use to assess your current digital footprint.
